5-2 to 5-6 (Tenth and Final Post)

I am said to announce that this is the last and final post for the internship program. It was a real blast and I enjoyed the ride. I want to thank Mrs. Napier, Mrs. Kirkland  and of course Mr. Tucker for giving me this grand opportunity to live and learn the life of an attorney. I have learned an enormous amount of information these past few months. I cannot fully express my gratitude towards you all.
Although I am sad, this is the beginning to a new chapter in the story of my life. Graduation is well over a week away. This has to be one of my most memorable experiences at Shaw High School. I hope this program has impacted everyone the same way it has impacted me. Again, thank you for this opportunity Mrs. Napier ! :D

4-25 to 4-29 (Ninth Post)

NOOOOOOO!!!!!

I am really really sad because it dawned on me that there are only 3 more days left at my internship. It has been real fun, but at least there is a bit more work to do. So lately there has been a lot more paperwork and organizing to do on my part in the office. It seems that some heavy workload is coming as I am leaving. I really wish I could stay to help them out, but this a living for them so they can handle it.

As I go to my internship these last 3 days, I will cherish each and every hour. In retrospect its only eight more hours I will have with everyone at the firm. Maybe I might work extra hours this week to make it last longer. Anyways, it has been real fun and I will be back next week with the last post. Hope everyone has a great week :D

4-18 to 4-22 (Eighth Post)

Well I have a stomach virus right now so I am going to try to finish this as quickly as possible. Last week I was once again working and copying papers and organizing documents. On Tuesday I had virtually nothing to do, so I just went on the internet and took some practice LSAT tests. Yet, Wednesday and Thursday were very busy days. I am still hoping to go back to the courthouse sooner or later before my internship is over.

I have basically summarized what happened all last week. I think this week may be similar to the last, but its still fun. I feel kind of sad knowing that my internship is almost over (6 more internship days). I may possibly try to see if I can get a job when I come back from D.C. during the summers. Only time will tell.

4-11 to 4-15 (Seventh Post)

Just three more weeks left......

Well this week was a little more entertaining. I went to the courthouse to see a domestic dispute between a former married couple and there were a lot of accusations made towards each other. Aside from going to the courthouse i was once again busy organizing and copying files. This week once again reminded me about how tedious the work is in a law office.  It was still fun nonetheless.

This week I believe I will be able to view another case. If not, then the library will do. It seems like this internship has went by so fast. I have learned so much from this internship that I believe I will apply very near into my future. There is only 3 more weeks left, so I feel to need to learn as much as I can before its complete. Hopefully I will be able to maybe come back someday to intern while in college.

That is basically it for this blog :)

Week of 3-28 to 4-1 (Sixth Post)

Hello Fellow Interns,

This week was very very fast paced and short. The week was short mainly because I only interned for 2 days accumulating only 5 hours :(. This was due to activities that needed to be done at school. So in return, this blog will be very short. So lets get started :).

Thursday and Friday

On Thursday and Friday I mainly went to the library. At other times I spent time on the computer reading on the computer different articles. This week at the office was pretty boring due to the business of the other attorneys. My PA was also very busy and had no tasks for me this week. All in all it was a good week, but very slow at work.

Week of 3-21 to 3-25 (Fifth Post)

Hello Fellow Interns,

Well its late, and I almost forgot to post up my blog tonight. Luckily my week was very brief so this should not take too much of your time.

Another Week of Papers  !

Papers here, papers there, I can see papers everywhere ! In essence my week consisted of hour to hour organizing and copying papers. That was basically the week, and why should it not ? You see, many things any attorney does is grounded by the foundation of organization. I have a very low habit of keeping things organized, so in return I am actually learning something.

SO.......that is really all you did ?

Yes it is, yet I believe this week will be a lot funner. I have not been to the courthouse or the law library in three weeks :'( so I am really hoping to get to both soon. All in all i am learning a lot, and the people I interact with have interesting tips about not only law, but also in life. They also display humor often. Many of the attorneys at the office have a running gag of stating "so, do you still wanna be a lawyer ?", and all I can help but do is smile and say "Yes, sir/mam".

Salutation

I hope everyone has a great week, and thank you for taking the time to read my blog :)

Week of 3-14 to 3-18 (Fourth Post)

Hello Fellow Interns,

Well this week nothing interesting really happened. I was sick on tuesday, so I had to work on Friday which is usually my off day. During the week I helped another attorney on her case. The help I gave consisted of typing of 200 names and info on a spreadsheet in excel.  So no trials were seen last week :(

Hopefully this week will be a lot more entertaining and more educative. One of my favorite things to do at the firm is to learn about stuff :D ! Yet, sometimes there are other things that must be completed before getting back to the fun stuff. All in all last week was good, and I loved helping the attorney whom appreciated my help. Lets see how this week goes and hope for more.

Everyone have a great week !

Week of 3-7 to 3-11 (Third Post)

Hello Fellow Interns,

Its around that time of the year when Seniors get that good ol senioritis :D, but iam gonna hold out from it just for this internship. So last week was great as usual. Once again i worked on a few projects given to me by my PA in regards to a few cases he is working on. I was slightly disappointed that one of the trials I was scheduled to go to was canceled by the judge. Yet, this was another opportunity to work even more within the environment of an attorney.

So I believe that I have concluded that an attorney can really think on their heels very quickly. It seems as if there is always an activity that is available or one that can be created, which is a good thing. I did a lot of research this week on a number of judicial issues and code sections. I look forward this week on continuing my research from the previous weeks. So, that essentially sums up my week.

Week of 2-28 to 3-4 (Second Post)

Hello Fellow Interns,

Well another week has passed, and a new week begins :). Last week was interesting as usual. During most of the week I helped my PA with reviewing some of the cases he has at the moment and second checking his work. It seems as though he has to put in a lot of hours into this job, because an assignment he gave me took almost three intern days ! Yet, it was fun. Each and every task that has been given to me has been completed to 100% precision.

I hope the coming weeks are just as fun as last week :). This week i am supposed to go to a few trials at the courthouse. I think its going to be a murder trial or something of those sorts 0_o. I feel like iam running out of words for my blog, so I wonder if i should start doing videos instead ? Well, anyways I hope everyone has a good week at their jobs. Peace.

Week of 2-21 to 2-25 (First Post)

Hello fellow interns !

Currently this is my 5th (maybe 6th) week working at my internship. I intern at the Page Scranton Sprouse Tucker law firm in downtown Columbus. Working here so far, has been one of the greatest experiences I believe a young aspiring law student would have. Everyone in the building are very nice and courteous towards me and towards each other, and they are usually always busy with work. From the first day of my internship there was a vibe that I got from the environment that this internship program was indeed a right decision by Mrs. Napier.

My daily routine is ALWAYS different. Some days consist of me printing out and copying papers, and on others I am assisting with actual casework or going to the courthouse. One of the coolest things in the building are the two law libraries (State and Federal). These law libraries consist of every single law written for the Federal Government and the State Government.

There is so much more information to tell about but I am limited by how much  that can be disclosed (Classified). I will still try to keep the blogs fun though in the coming weeks  (Lets try video blogs ?).

Well, Thanks for taking the time to read :),

Have a great day !
